PingProperties signs construction team agreement with BAM for extension to ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport

PingProperties recently concluded a construction team agreement with BAM Bouw & Techniek, Northwest region. The agreement is for extending hotel ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport at Piet Guilonardweg 3 in Schiphol-Oost. BAM has been contracted by PingProperties to carry out the engineering for an extension of approx. 4,000 m2 to the existing hotel building. BAM is responsible for the engineering works and APTO Architects for the architectural design. Completion is scheduled for early 2021.
Extension
Thanks to the hotel’s positive results, the growing hotel market and favourable developments at and around Schiphol, the existing ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport will be extended on the ground floor to accommodate around 126 additional rooms and a new gym. A terrace will also be built at the front of the building to create a natural connection between outside and inside, in keeping with the experience of ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport as a ‘green oasis’. The extension will be built on the P1 car park between the existing hotel and the Transavia building, and will be partly raised on columns so that the parking spaces and dispatch area can be retained. The existing part of the hotel will be connected to the new part through a passage next to the bar and reception.
Ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport
The former office building of the immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) that was bought, redeveloped and transformed by PingProperties into a sustainable lifestyle hotel, opened its doors in October 2016.
