Handover of new Teijin Aramid head office in Arnhem
10-09-2020
The new international head office of Teijin Aramid, leader in high-performance aramid fibres, was handed over right on schedule. PingProperties, Teijin Aramid and BAM Bouw en Techniek signed the official transfer in the new building, named T ONE and located at the former AkzoNobel/ENKA site in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The transformation of the outdated, vacant laboratory into in a sustainable and future-proof office building was achieved in fourteen months.
Completion within schedule and budget
‘We have completed this project, including a complete fit-out package, in close co-operation with the tenant, Teijin Aramid. Our praise goes to BAM who, despite the coronavirus crisis, managed to make this refurbishment a success, within the set budget and time. The new head office is now right next to the T TWO research building, which is also let to Teijin Aramid. This is a great step for our lessee in reinforcing the integration, team spirit and cooperation between its employees. For PingProperties this is a fantastic investment product to have achieved, on the one hand by creating a sustainable, entirely gas-free building with energy label A+, and on the other hand because both buildings (T ONE 4,650 m² and T TWO 17,300 m²) are now fully let on long-term leases to a stable, listed company,’ says Bram Harding, development manager at PingProperties.
Peter ter Horst, CEO of Teijin Aramid:’ I am very happy we completed this first phase of our new corporate headquarters. The new building is a beautiful, sustainable and functional environment where collaboration is key. In addition, it is also due to our additional investment in terms of durability, we created this very nice building where we can be proud of.
‘This beautiful refurbishment is a top achievement for all parties involved. Before signing our turnkey agreement with PingProperties we had prepared the redevelopment with a construction team. I am convinced that this is why we have been able to deal with setbacks, such as corona measures, successfully. Teijin Aramid can move into the building according to schedule,’ says Menno van Middelkoop, Realization Manager at BAM Bouw en Techniek – Eastern Region.
BAM was responsible for the entire transformation. The design was made by APTO Architects.
