PingProperties extends lease for 12,000m2 with the Central Government Real Estate Agency and Groninger Archieven in Cascade - Groningen
31-08-2021
PingProperties has reached an agreement with the Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf – RVB) on the extension of its lease at Cascadeplein 4 in Groningen. With this extension, the Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB) and thus also the Groninger Archieven will remain part of the Cascadecomplex. The Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB) and Groninger Archieven use around 12,000m2 of office and archive space at this location. For the Groninger Archieven, the great accessibility and quality of the complex are the main reasons to commit to the complex long term. The Groninger Archieven plan to renovate their establishment soon, in order to ensure their accommodation in the future. This aligns with the Cascadecomplex sustainability plan, which is being carried out to obtain energy efficiency label A.
About the Cascadecomplex
The Cascadecomplex is situated at a unique location, right next to Groningen Central Station (the main train station). The complex is one of the largest Central Government Offices in the Netherlands and houses 17 different government services including the Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB), UWV (Employee Insurance Agency), the Netherlands’ Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency, Groninger Archieven and Radiocommunications Agency Netherlands. It is also home to Solarfields. Through consistent policy, PingProperties has added value to the complex and by rolling out the sustainability plan, two of the seven buildings have received energy efficiency label A, with the rest to follow this year. In doing so, PingProperties creates a lasting difference for those involved.
Groninger Archieven
As a professional collection curator, the Groninger Archieven allow as many people as possible to access physical and digital archive collections. These include historical administration of the city and the province of Groningen, and of other governments and water authorities in the province. Where possible, the organisation mediates to broadly implement current and historical information about the city and the province of Groningen. The Groninger Archieven work closely with the War and Resistance Center Groningen, which is located in the same building as the Groninger Archieven. The Groninger Archieven include as many volunteers as possible in their work on and with the collection. Furthermore, they work with historical associations, museums and education institutes.
