PingProperties starts energy management pilot for its hotel ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport
22-04-2024
PingProperties has started a pilot to optimize the energy consumption of its hotel ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport to achieve Paris Proof by 2040.
Despite improvements in efficiency standards for buildings, many modern buildings are still wasting enormous amounts of energy due to poor control of their climate systems and a lack of understanding. The hotel has energy label A, but operates at a much lower label. The aim of this pilot is therefore to achieve a demonstrable reduction in heating costs and energy consumption, and by doing so to meet the requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement (10% reduction in gas and heat consumption) while preserving a harmonious balance between energy savings and comfort in the building. This is one of the objectives that PingProperties has set in its ESG policy to make all the buildings it has purchased Paris Proof.
With Spectral Energy’s Brighter platform, the hotel should become hyper-efficient by using AI predictive building automation, including machine learning, which also takes the weather forecast into account. Smart meters have been installed throughout the building this month. ‘We can see the results in real time and hope to achieve such positive results that we can also convince other users and tenants in the building to work with us on achieving Paris Proof,’ says Bram Harding – Managing Director Redevelopment.
