Transformation from offices into a sustainable lifestyle hotel
Ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport is a sustainable lifestyle hotel located at Schiphol-East with 135 rooms, a stylish restaurant, a cozy Skymaster bar and a lounge & gym for relaxation. The hotel offers its guests a unique experience to stay in a green oasis, amongaan all the hustle and bustle of traveling and working. Every detail has been thought of and the level of quality and service is high. As ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport is close to Schiphol, the hotel is an attractive location for both national and international guests.
PingProperties acquired this former IND office building in 2005. In close cooperation with the Royal BAM Group the office building was in 2016 transformed into a sustainable lifestyle hotel in 10 months. In the same year, PingProperties also took care of the operation. Since December 2018, the hotel operates as ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport under the flag of AccorHotels Services Netherlands B.V.
PingProperties has made a lasting difference through the successful transformation of an outdated office building into a successful and sustainable lifestyle hotel. In addition, PingProperties has taken control of the operation and has opted for a quality partner (Accor).
Development and expansion hotel
The hotel market in the Netherlands and around Schiphol / Amsterdam is moving. The number of hotel bookings has grown explosively in recent years. This is also visible in the annually rising results of ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years. PingProperties has the ambition to expand the building with 123 rooms, a new gym and a terrace at the front. The development already has started. After this development the hotel will have 266 rooms. The expansion of the hotel also fits in well with the development of Schiphol-East * as an important part of the Metropol Amsterdam.
*At the moment, the Schiphol-East area is in full development with the arrival of the KLM headquarters in front of the hotel in 2024. The area is developing into a dynamic location that is characterized by high-quality office buildings, good facilities and excellent accessibility. A wide range of (inter) national companies have established themselves here in recent years, all focusing on entrepreneurship, collaboration and innovation.
