PingProperties completes sustainability project at Dunea head office in Zoetermeer
04-12-2023
Two years ago PingProperties and drinking water company Dunea jointly developed plans to improve the sustainability of energy consumption in the office building. The building had already been completely stripped in 2013 and given new facades, resulting in energy label A. PingProperties then turned its attention to achieving further energy reductions within the building. Various steps were taken to reduce energy consumption, such as installing 168 solar panels on the roof, fitting water-saving toilets and replacing all the lighting with energy-saving LED lighting. As a result of these measures, in early 2023 the energy label was improved to A++.
The final element of the sustainability work involved the structural modernization of one of the entrances which was felt to be outdated. Work on this new entrance was recently finished, marking the completion of the entire sustainability project.
Dunea’s head office at Plein van de Verenigde Naties 11-16 in Zoetermeer has been part of PingProperties’ portfolio since 2019. The characteristic crescent-shaped building, designed by Graziosi Progetti architects, has a lettable floor area of 8,519 m2. The head office is at a prime location immediately adjacent to the railway station and the A12 motorway and has an excellent parking ratio.
