05-02-2024
PingProperties has recently concluded a 5-year lease with the non-food discounter Iper Megastores for 700 m2 in Passage Schiedam shopping centre. Iper Megastores offers a wide range of day-to-day non-food products at competitive prices: from hand towels to attractive home accessories and from pet supplies to kitchenware and craft materials. The store will open in Passage Schiedam in the second quarter of 2024.
Iper Megastores in the Netherlands is affiliated to a family business from Italy where it already has 20 megastores and is achieving great success. The store in Schiedam is Iper Megastores’ first in the Netherlands, and the retailer wants to expand here with the aim of opening at least 25 stores.
Iper Megastores is initially focusing on the major cities in the Randstad and their immediate surroundings. The ideal stores are between 750 and 3,000 m2 in size and are in the vicinity of a major supermarket chain. Iper Megastores is being represented in the Netherlands by Reibestein en Partners Bedrijfshuisvesting in The Hague, which has also arranged this first lease in Schiedam.
Iper Megastores is also engaged in far-reaching negotiations with PingProperties about other locations within its portfolio.
