PingProperties expects visitor numbers at Stadshart Daily Plaza to grow by more than 75%

Repositioning as a shopping centre for daily needs generates an increase in visitor numbers.
PingProperties expects Stadshart Daily Plaza in Zoetermeer to record more than 4 million visits in 2026. This forecast means an expected growth of around 76% compared to the 2,275,486 visits in the whole of 2022, the year that PingProperties added the shopping centre to its portfolio. This trend supports its chosen strategy to transform the covered shopping arcade into an attractive centre for daily shopping.
An acquisition with a clear vision
Stadshart Oost, of which Stadshart Daily Plaza forms part, was added to PingProperties’ portfolio on 1 September 2022. The ambition was clear right from the start: to enhance the shopping area with a fuller range of day-to-day shops, a combination of national chains, local retailers and more convenience for visitors.
That vision has been translated into the redevelopment of the covered shopping arcade of around 13,000 m². Dirk supermarket has been brought in as the main anchor store. In addition, PingProperties has also invested in the shopping centre’s range of shops, as well as its appearance and accessibility. A new indoor basement car park with travelators enables customers to take their shopping in the trolley direct to their car. The first construction phase was completed at the end of 2024.
Strong growth after redevelopment
Following a decline in 2024, when major renovation work took place, visitor numbers increased sharply in 2025. This growth continues in 2026: the number of visitors in September of this year was 8% higher than in September 2025.
Jeroen Puik and Bob Scheurer, Asset Managers at PingProperties: “When we purchased the property we saw the potential to give the arcade a new boost, with day-to-day shopping and convenience as a starting point. Together with the retailers we have achieved a great deal since then. The fact that for this year we expect more than 4 million visits is fantastic confirmation of that vision. This offers our retailers the opportunity to reach more customers and increase their loyalty to the shopping centre.”
Continue developing the concept
PingProperties will continue investing in further strengthening the range of day-to-day shops. The leases recently concluded with Delica Versmarkt and Slagerij Dezza are in line with its ambition to attract shops offering local fresh produce within Daily Plaza.
