PingProperties signs lease with Basic-Fit for Passage Schiedam shopping centre

23-05-2025

PingProperties has signed a long-term lease with Basic-Fit for Passage Schiedam shopping centre, where the fitness chain will open a new branch of around 1,120 m².

The space that Basic-Fit will lease has been empty for some time due to its poor accessibility. For that reason, PingProperties has developed a structural plan to create a new entrance for Basic-Fit that will be accessible both during the day and after the shopping centre’s closing time. To achieve this, a number of relocations have been made in consultation with existing tenants.

During the past 3.5 years PingProperties h as worked intensively on optimizing the range of shops so that the shopping centre better suits the needs and opportunities of its catchment area. This has involved renewing the leases of successful shops and replacing poorly performing shops with new, strong retail chains. With the arrival of Basic-Fit, the shopping centre can now boast leisure as an important addition to its range of amenities. A new supermarket named ‘Istanbul Supermarkt’ occupying 1,100 m2 will also be opening this year. It is a supermarket formula that fits well with the daily shopping needs of Passage Schiedam’s visitors.
