01-10-2020
Siemens Mobility B.V. has signed a new lease with PingProperties, committing itself for the long term to Dutch Tech Campus in Zoetermeer. A ten-year lease has been concluded for the building at Werner Von Siemensstraat 5, directly alongside Siemens Mobility’s current premises. The lease is for approx. 4,200 m² LFA and 80 parking spaces. One element of the lease involves making the building more sustainable, which includes a new main entrance. Siemens Mobility will move into the new offices in September 2021 following completion of the renovation. By choosing DTC, Siemens Mobility has demonstrated its confidence in both the campus and the surrounding area which will undergo major investment in the coming years.
“Siemens Mobility’s new offices will ensure that customers are even more at the heart of our business. At the same time we want to improve our attractiveness as an employer with this new work environment. The fresh, modern and sustainable office building will stimulate collaboration and creativity,” says Olivier Gueydan, CEO of Siemens Mobility BV.
The lease extension is perfectly in keeping with PingProperties’ vision to attract lessees to Dutch Tech Campus for the long term and work with them to create a genuine campus.
Sustainable, spacious and flexible
The building which Siemens Mobility B.V. will occupy from September 2021 is being renovated to achieve climate class B and Energy Label A. The building engineering systems will be almost entirely renewed and the building will be equipped with heat pumps and solar panels. The lessee is also investing in the building. By installing new fixtures and fittings with sustainability and flexibility playing a major role, the building will be fitted out entirely according to Siemens’ wishes. A more spacious layout and more flexspaces will meet the lessee’s needs perfectly, to create a superb, future-proof office with 200 workspaces in the very near future. The new main entrance will give the building an attractive, fresh appearance.
About Dutch Tech Campus (DTC) and Dutch Innovation Park
Dutch Tech Campus is a campus that brings together a wide range of national and international businesses in the field of smart technology, ICT and logistics. Existing and new lessees can share knowledge and collaborate, creating an inspirational work environment with mutual synergy effects. A range of successful businesses in smart technology, ICT and logistics, including Siemens Mobility, WSAudiology, ATOS Medical, Reconext and Grey Valley, are based on the campus.
In 2015, PingProperties purchased the site from Siemens on a sale-and-leaseback basis and a start was made in repositioning the site as a campus concept (Dutch Tech Campus Zoetermeer). There has been significant investment in amenities and services to increase the satisfaction of existing lessees and to attract new lessees. The complex covers an area of 13 hectares with 10 buildings, providing both office space as well as high-quality business and production space, with a total floor area of approx. 42,000 m² LFA. The site is still undergoing extensive development to transform it into a genuine campus.
DTC (a former Siemens complex) together with Dutch Innovation Factory (DIF) is part of the Dutch Innovation Park in Zoetermeer. ICT businesses and more than 800 ICT students share knowledge and collaborate on the Park. This synergy generates innovations and new business.
