Tulip Inn Amsterdam Airport hotel awarded the Green Key Gold Label
01-12-2016
The recently opened Tulip Inn Amsterdam Airport at Schiphol-Oost has been awarded the Green Key Gold Label! Green Key is an international quality mark for sustainable businesses in the recreation and leisure sector.
The Green Key label demonstrates that Tulip Inn Amsterdam Airport does everything to minimize its environmental impact, going a step further than required under standard laws and legislation. The Gold label means that the hotel has achieved the highest possible environmentally friendly Green Key level (the label has three levels: bronze, silver and gold).
Corporate social responsibility
Tulip Inn Amsterdam Airport demonstrates sustainable business practices and social commitment in a variety of ways:
-the hotel occupies a sustainably transformed former office building;
-the existing building has been left unchanged as far as possible in order to save on construction energy and building materials;
-existing technical systems dating from 2005 have been reused but also made sustainable;
-the hotel rooms have a key card system, so that the power supply is not left switched on unnecessarily;
-lighting everywhere is energy-saving LED lighting;
-we work together as much as possible with local and sustainable suppliers, such as the cradle-to-cradle company Auping and Blycolin for 100% organic and fair trade linen;
-our car park has charging points for electric cars;
-guests can make use of the electric shuttle service to the airport free of charge;
-by booking our rooms via bookdifferent.com, guests automatically support a good cause.
PingProperties operates the Tulip Inn Hotel at its own risk, while the management of the hotel is in the hands of the Louvre Hotels Group (LHG).
