PingProperties contracts BAM Bouw en Techniek to improve sustainability of existing office building on Dutch Tech Campus in Zoetermeer

06-07-2023

PingProperties has contracted BAM Bouw en Techniek to modernize and make sustainability improvements to the future offices of TKH Security B.V., part of the listed technology company TKH Group N.V., on the Dutch Tech Campus (DTC) in Zoetermeer.

A wide range of national and international businesses focusing on Communication, Mobility and e-Healthcare are brought together at a central location on the Dutch Tech Campus. The businesses are directly or indirectly linked to smart technology. The Dutch Tech Campus site has almost 42,000 m² of office space as well as high-quality commercial and production space on a 13-hectare site, and is home to many business-critical systems that must be operational 24 hours a day.

Sustainability improvements
BAM Bouw en Techniek – Gebouwservices Zuidwest has been contracted by PingProperties for all the management and maintenance work at the DTC. For the TKH project, we are improving the sustainability of a total of 5,484 m2 LFA, of which 3,909 m2 is office space, as well as 1,575 m2 of commercial space and 150 parking spaces. The entire building will be brought up to energy label A+ and be given a new main entrance, linking atriums and a sedum roof. The renovation of the building will be completed in two stages; first the commercial space, and then the office space. Renovation of the commercial space is scheduled to be completed by 31 October 2023 at the latest, and TKH will move into its new offices no later than 31 March 2024.

Nick van Vliet, Development Manager at PingProperties:
‘With the renovation work and sustainability improvements in the building for TKH Security, once again we are fulfilling our brand promise –‘creating a lasting difference’.
With this contract, BAM Bouw en Techniek is implementing its strategy – ‘Building a sustainable tomorrow’. Hans van Hoven, director of BAM Bouw en Techniek – Gebouwservices Zuidwest: ‘We deliver leading services and products for our clients by focusing on sustainability, digitization and industrialization’.

Materials passport
Together with our client PingProperties, BAM takes responsibility for making future-oriented choices that go further than simply renovating these offices sustainably. We record the specifications and handbooks of the products used in a materials passport for buildings. The knowledge contained in such a passport makes high-quality reuse of the materials possible in the future. That way we exploit the potential of digitization and industrialization, and the owner or manager knows what products he owns, how they can be disassembled and therefore how they can be reused.
By installing facilities such as PV panels, heat pumps, roof insulation and LED lighting, BAM is bringing the building up to energy label A+.
