PingProperties Corporate Office Fund VII receives LEED Platinum certificate
23-09-2016
The very first LEED Platinum certificate for a large-scale renovation of an office building in the Netherlands has been awarded to the Siemens office building in the Beatrixkwartier of The Hague.
International quality mark for sustainability
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the international quality mark that assesses buildings around the world for the sustainable qualities of their design, construction and management.
State of the art
The renovation was carried out by the contractor BAM, in collaboration with LEED and technical building services consultant Deerns and JHK architecten, and was completed this summer. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art Siemens products, switchgear and systems for comfort, security, fire safety and energy management.
LEED Gold
The office complex in the Beatrixkwartier of The Hague comprises two parts, is owned by PingProperties (PP COF VII) and is occupied by Siemens on a long-term lease. Earlier this year the renovation of the first part of the building had already been awarded the LEED Gold certificate. The head office of Siemens Nederland is based in this building, which dates from the 1970s. The adjacent building, which has now been awarded LEED Platinum status, will be taken into use next year as the European head office of Jacobs, the firm of engineering consultants with international operations.
