PingProperties and BAM sign turnkey building contract for redevelopment of business premises in Arnhem

08-10-2019

PingProperties and BAM have signed a turnkey building contract. BAM Bouw en Techniek – Eastern Region has been contracted by PingProperties to transform a former laboratory building into the global head office of Teijin Aramid. The building of approx. 6,000 m2 is on the former AkzoNobel/ENKA site at Velperweg in Arnhem. Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2020. The redevelopment will result in a sustainable and future-proof office building. Following the refinancing agreement at the start of the year, this is the next step in the transformation of the AkzoNobel site into a multifunctional area combining homes, work and education.

From laboratory to sustainable head office
The existing building will be transformed into Teijin Aramid’s global head office, incorporating cutting-edge climate and sustainability technology. The entire redevelopment of the former laboratory will involve demolishing part of the building, stripping the remaining part back to the concrete shell, installing brand-new systems and building a new, sustainable facade. This new, high-quality facade will not only give the building an appearance that befits a modern head office, but will also minimize the building’s energy consumption. To complete the transformation, the building will be given new fixtures and fittings fully designed in collaboration with Teijin Aramid to create the image and workplace concept envisaged by the company. All this will contribute to Teijin Aramid’s ambition to achieve operational excellence.
