PingProperties successfully concludes lease with Bayer in Maastricht
09-12-2014
PingProperties has concluded a lease with effect from 1 February 2015 with a new lessee, Bayer Medical Care, for 2,500 m² of office space and 46 parking spaces in La Fortezza Zuid, a building located on Avenue Ceramique 27-33 in Maastricht. Following the departure of ABN Amro this year, the building will now be virtually fully let again.
La Fortezza, designed by architect Mario Botta, is a stylish and modern office building which was built in 1999. The building is located in the heart of the Ceramique office district in Maastricht, on the east side of the river Maas. Bayer has chosen La Fortezza thanks to its striking and high-quality image and favourable location in relation to the historic centre of Maastricht. In addition, the internal layout options in La Fortezza make it ideal for use as offices in combination with workshop space and a national training centre for specialist repairs of high-tech medical equipment.
The alderman responsible for Economics of the Municipality of Maastricht, Mr John Aarts, is delighted with the arrival of Bayer Medical Care: ‘Maastricht is increasingly becoming a bustling centre for life sciences and medical technology. The lease with Bayer Medical Care therefore represents not only a great addition to the businesses already based in Maastricht, but the presence of this company also means a fantastic boost for employment’.
Bayer Medical Care B.V. is a leading worldwide supplier of medical equipment and services which make it possible to perform scanning procedures on the human body. The products manufactured by Medical Care are used for diagnostic imaging and comprise a wide range of vascular injection systems, MR systems (magnetic resonance imaging) and products for patient care and product support.
